Appointments are no longer required for the Reading Room, but we are maintaining an appointment option for the convenience of our researchers.
Making an appointment:
- Select a timeslot below and submit the information to schedule your appointment in the Reading Room. Appointments must be scheduled at least three days in advance.
- Appointments are limited to one per week per person, though researchers are welcome to take advantage of our general open hours.
- Due to limits of our software, appointments are scheduled as a set block, but are only limited by the Reading Room Hours. A researcher is welcome to come and go anytime within the scheduled day.
- Advance request of materials via our online Aeon system is strongly encouraged to make the best use of your time. In selecting your materials, you may wish to consult finding aids or the KU Libraries catalog.

Spencer Research Library has one reserved parking space for researchers, visitors, and donors. The space is located on Poplar Lane near the library building. Please contact Emily Beran, Public Services Library Assistant, at emilyberan@ku.edu or 785-864-4891 if you are interested in using the space during your research appointment. We must receive your request at least one business day in advance of your visit.
