Digital Storytelling with ArcGIS StoryMaps

Digital Storytelling with ArcGIS StoryMaps In-Person

The workshop is tentatively planned to be in-person, but may be converted to a virtual workshop at a future date.

ArcGIS StoryMaps is a digital storytelling tool that allows you to combine interactive maps with narrative text, images, and multimedia. With the rise of geographic information systems (GIS) and accessible online tools, humanities research has become increasingly interested in understanding the influence of space on human behavior and cultural development.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will:

  • Learn how mapping and spatial analysis are being used in the humanities

  • Understand how to tell engaging spatial narratives

  • Navigate the ArcGIS StoryMaps interface

  • Create an interactive StoryMap
